home (and heart) spring edit

A personal note.

Well, hello there, Spring. So glad you’ve arrived.

Allergens aside, I love this season. The arrival of green leaves. Longer stretches of sun. It’s incredibly uplifting to the senses and quite literally puts a “spring” in my step.

My littlest gave me a vibrant stem two Springs ago. It's semi-dried now but seeing it every day makes me smile (and the dishes less of a chore).

Whenever seasons transition, I feel the pull to make little changes in my space. Maybe a jar of fresh stems in the bathroom or swapping pillows throughout our home. Nothing drastic or expensive. Just a little tweak to bring some of that fresh outdoor feeling inside.

A little decor swap in my entry — creams, blues, and handmade winter crafts for deep yellows and spring greens.

Maybe you’re called to make a deeper change. Find that drawer or cabinet you’ve been meaning to address and Go. For. It. Invite a friend. Empty it all out. Then let go of what’s not serving you and keep what is. Don’t even worry about putting it all back neatly because that’s not the point. You just took that first daunting step, the one you’ve probably been scared to take. And now you can celebrate that victory and use it to spring forward to the next.

We are all, in our own way, searching for that feeling of being “at home”. It’s incredibly personal, so if you do one spring edit, let it be letting go of the feeling of what your home should look like. Your space is yours and is meant to serve and reflect YOU. You’ll know you’re getting somewhere when it starts to feel good and make sense for how you live. And if you feel you’re behind, don’t. There’s no timeline or really an endpoint. It’s all about the process and falling in love with your home along the way...

You want that rhythm

That feeling of flow

Searching feels like a crawl

So incredibly hard and slow

But so what if takes a while

So what if it’s a climb

What matters is you START

‘Cause once you do, you’ll feel it…more and more...you'll know...

You'll find your way and, in your own sweet time, you’ll feel and be at home.

what spring edit will you make at home this month?

I believe it's “your home, your way.” You do you, friend, then let me know in the comments how you’re doing. If you liked this personal note, share it AND subscribe to receive more notes like this in your inbox.
