Even though I grew up in Canadian winters, frigid temps now push me indoors. The idea of hibernating at home—staying cozy and warm, with uninterrupted time to rest and relax with the fam—sounds absolutely luxurious, don’t you think?

Snuggling under a blanket with an endless stack of books and delicious beverages sounds like my kinda winter escape!
Of course, we can’t pause life to hide away. But we can lean into our homes and benefit from winter’s call to slowww our pace.
Spending slower moments at home opens up time to notice and ask:
What room(s) feel comfortable, uncomfortable, and why?
Where do I spend the most time?
Does that space flow and function well?
Do the things I own, use, and love have a practical place?
Which area(s) need urgent attention?
What small refresh would feel good and feasible to do?
There’s no pressure or rush to act on your responses, but it can be illuminating to realize where your home’s at versus where you want it to be.

So, if you’re seeking a warmer way through the coming cold months, consider focusing inward on yourself—ponder thoughts and dreams without urgency, take pleasure in solitude and simple everyday things—and your interior space. Be a winter homebody and thoughtfully explore what you need or would love to make happen. More often than not, little intentional tweaks to a shelf, drawer, or cabinet are what prove to be most useful now and for the fast-paced seasons to come.
are you a winter homebody? or do you enjoy the chill?
These days, the only thing I’ll gladly leave the house for is to help someone in or with their home, so I’m curious to know how others handle the cold. Comment below to share!
Always,
