design tip: a little greenery goes a long way

Adding greenery here and there in your home can make a big positive impact on how you feel in it. About a month ago, I styled the community room for my Ridgeway Condominium clients, and the greenery alone instantly made the room feel inviting and lived in.

My clients LOVED the transformation and were even more thrilled about not having to find a resident volunteer or extra funds to upkeep live plants!

Yes, my friends, we went faux with the greenery. All the way.

From cold and stark...to warm and welcoming just by adding a few hints of green.

Faux greenery has come far in its aesthetic. It’s definitely on trend right now, looking incredibly similar to the real thing at a much lower price point and without the pressure to keep it alive.

I, for sure, do not have a green thumb, and that’s okay! Whether you’re all-in with real or, like me, embrace the realness of faux, it’s worth sprinkling a few stems and plants around to add freshness, vibrancy, and maybe that something-something you’ve been looking for to make your space feel complete.

Over the past 18 months (process!), I’ve incorporated faux plants, stems, and even a tree into our home, and we’ve all noticed and love how these little natural touches just liven up each space. So today, I’m sharing a photo reel of my favorite greenery finds to help inspire you to try a plant or two, faux or real, in your home:

Our mantel fern (IKEA FEJKA) kicked off my faux green spree.

Green, done two ways, added the finishing touch to our powder room refresh.

So delicate and life-like, I love having these oversized stems in our bedroom to greet us at the start and end to every day.

what’s your favorite kind of greenery?

I’m loving the faux green stems I found for a client at Target. So much so, I snagged a few (okay, four) for myself (they're always changing seasonally, so search "faux stems" at Target.com to see what's new).

Love to read what your go-to green is (real or faux) in the Comments, and I hope you make time to take time to notice the beautiful green around you wherever you are.

Always,
